Handsome mantel from Wabam, MA, house. Dates around 1740 to 1760. I removed
a 20th C. add-on shelf which left a few nail holes that will need to be filled.
I scraped through the layers of paint and got to the first few original coats.
It looks like a mustard may have been the first layer.
Measurements: Inside dimensions; 61&1/4" wide x ~ 42" high (needs some trimming along top edge of fire box). Outside dimensions; ~72&1/2" wide x ~ 74&1/4" high to paint line.
