Corner fireplace mantle, ~c.1870 from southwestern CT. One of a matching pair
from the same house, although they are slightly differently sizes. Because
these are corner mantle pieces, they have a lot of room behind them and may
be suitable for gas fireplaces. Made of Chestnut or Ash.
Dimensions: outside diameter ~62&1/2" wide x 51&1/2" high, fire box 39&3/4" wide x ~35" high, shelf 72" wide x 15&3/8" deep. Corner returns are slightly different widths on each side and will most likely need to be adjusted depending on final installation.
