Corner fireplace mantle, ~c.1870 from southwestern CT. One of a matching pair
from the same house, although they are slightly differently sizes. Because
these are corner mantle pieces, they have a lot of room behind them and may
be suitable for gas fireplaces. Made of Chestnut or Ash.
Dimensions: Outside diameter ~ 62&3/8" wide x 52&1/2" high, fire box size 40" wide x 35&1/2" high, shelf is 72&3/4" wide x 15&1/2" deep. Corner returns are slightly different widths on each side and will most likely need to be adjusted depending on final installation.
