Reclaimed Antique Flooring |
| The antique flooring pictured below was salvaged from antique homes or barns. Reclaimed antique flooring has great character and is perfect for a restoration project or to add warmth and beauty to a special room in your home. The most common species I salvage are chestnut, oak and pine.
Salvaged floors are often limited in square footage. If you need greater quantities or desire the patina and character of antique wood with a less worn look, consider re-sawn flooring as an alternative.
Attic floors usually have the most square footage, ranging from 400 to 1,000 square feet. These floors usually show very little wear and often possess original straight saw marks. These boards can be left in their original condition or lightly sanded to bring out the lighter colors, grain patterns and patina.
Unpainted main floors have a great worn patina and character from the foot traffic they've endured over the years. These boards my have hints of original saw marks or they may be hand-planed. Batches can range from 50 square feet and up.
Painted flooring can be either totally or partially painted. Often, just the ends of the boards are painted with the center left as natural wood. These floors can be repainted or stripped and refinished to reveal the original surface.
Reclaimed flooring is usually sold in complete batches, although I would consider breaking up larger quantities (often attic batches). In general, you should plan on 10 - 20% waste. I can work with you to match batch sizes to your floor plans. If you need greater quantities, consider mixing reclaimed flooring with re-sawn flooring.
Some of my current inventory is listed below with images and prices. Dimensions give a general range of widths and lengths and are not meant to be exact. Please check back often or I can send you a monthly inventory update via e-mail.
